About the Collection

The Mood and Mystery series marks a turning point in my artistic journey. Shaped by personal experiences that were beyond my control, these works reflect a deep turning inward—an exploration of the unseen, the emotional, and the intuitive.

Mood is an atmosphere, an energy, a fleeting sensation that colors our perception. Mystery is its counterpart—an enigma that resists full comprehension, something felt more than explained. Together, they form the essence of this series. Through a restrained palette of black, white, gray, ochre, and earth tones, I aim to create paintings that carry both presence and depth, inviting the viewer into an experience of stillness, intensity, and reflection.

Most works in this series have been grounded in neutrality, but the newest paintings introduce blue and blue-green accents for the first time. These quiet yet striking additions expand the vocabulary of the series, offering a fresh layer of atmosphere and emotional resonance while remaining firmly anchored in its spirit of mystery and mood.

The result is work that is not only visually powerful but emotionally compelling. Each piece provides a contemplative escape and a connection to the inner journey, making it a distinctive addition to any collection.

I kicked things off with one of my favorite mark-making demos, letting lines and textures dance across the canvas, then after lunch grabbed a couple of big brushes and went rogue...turning it into something *completely* unexpected.

Cat and I did the unthinkable: we painted on the *same* canvas. At the same time. On purpose. 😳🎨
