Yesterday, I spent a few magical hours with my 11-year-old granddaughter and 9-year-old grandson as they dove into the joy of making collages! 🎉

Watching them play, explore, and light up with each creative discovery was such a gift. They loved the puzzle-like process of arranging pieces and began to grasp the beauty of composition without even realizing they were learning.

👉🏼 Moments like these remind me how precious it is to PLAY and pass on the love of making things with our hands.

Just wrapped my 7th sold-out Santa Fe in-studio workshop of the year, and I’m feeling genuinely grateful to each person who showed up, took risks, and brought so much ⚡ energy into the room. These workshops continue to be a highlight of my year, and it’s because of the people in them 👩🏻‍🎨

I’m sharing two recent paper pieces (both 40 x 30) that I created during this workshop. These came out of a shapes exercise we explored together. I always like to complete one or two works during a workshop — not only as a record of the time, but also as a way to stretch myself a little, try a new palette, or shift how I apply the paint. These certainly qualify!

👉🏼 They’re outside my usual rhythm, which is just the point.

I think it’s important that participants see me stepping outside my own comfort zone too — experimenting, playing, making space for surprise. That said, I keep the scale manageable so I can stay focused on what matters most: being present with each of you and supporting your process! 🙌🏼
